The Yuma County Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the county and a number of special districts. Within the limits of state law, the Board is empowered to adopt ordinances, establish programs, levy taxes, appropriate funds, appoint certain officials, and zone property and regulate development in the unincorporated area. In this section you can view previously aired BOS meetings in their entirety, or use the search engine to locate specific agenda items to view by typing in a key word or phrase.

Qualified electors of the county are appointed by the Yuma County Board of Supervisors as the Planning & Zoning Commission. These individuals conduct public hearings and transmit all recommendations, decisions, findings, reports and official actions to the Board of Supervisors. Applicants are given the opportunity to present their request. County staff comment about their review of the application or proposal and any member of the public may speak. All proceedings are transmitted as recommendations from the Planning Commission to the Board of Supervisors.

The “County Line” is an informational 5-minute program shown at the beginning of every Regular Session meeting of the Yuma County Board of Supervisors. With a news magazine style format it is designed to inform customers of things they typically don’t get to see or hear about their County government. In this section you can review previously produced “County Line” programs to find out what’s been going on in your County government.
