Yuma County Safety Recognition Award

The Yuma County Safety Recognition Award program recognizes employees from all departments who promote safety in the workplace.

Full-time employees that have at least one year of service and no disciplinary actions during the previous year.

Scores a “Meets” or greater performance rating during the most recent review period.

Initiates safety practices and suggestions that produce cost savings to the County.

Demonstrates exceptional safety awareness and contributes to both the development and implementation of safety programs in the workplace.

Nomination Process
Complete a nomination form.

Submit the nomination form to Yuma County Risk Management at 145 S. 2nd Avenue.

The Yuma County Administrative Services Director and the Yuma County Safety Specialist will review all nominations, add their own observations regarding the nominee, and will then present all eligible Safety Recognition Award nominees to the Yuma County Merit Award Board for their review and selection of the employee to receive the Safety Recognition Award. The name of the selected employee will then be forwarded to the Yuma County Board of Supervisors for approval.

The name of the employee chosen for the Safety Recognition Award will be announced at the annual Yuma County Awards Ceremony and the employee will be awarded a $250 net cash award and a plaque.
